Description
LD - Post Jam- Version
Controls: Arrows , S
You are stuck "beneath the surface" and trying to find a way up. There seems to be only 1 giant door blocking your path. Can you open it?
4 Keys, 1 way out, and power-ups.
Exploration platformer.
Enjoy!

I wish I could've done more with the theme, but we were cutting it close. We had some awesome music for the overworld too. Argh!

great game. The only issue i had was the fact that you cant double-jump after you fall off a cliff.. basically, in the 'last' room, when you fall off a wall, instead of jump off a wall, you can only single jump, which typically ends in a complete fail. It sometimes is hard to find at which point you're simply sliding down, and at which point you have actually fallen off...
I only mention this because nearly every other game that i've played in this style (2D platformer with integrated player improvements) allows you to double jump even after a fall (as long as you've touched solid 'ground' since the last jump)

Some of the things like the water falling from above looks like the ones from the game called FEZ on the PS4/PS3 > w <)/ still cool though!

The game is the best game I've played in my career; way better than the Pokemon series...

If you don't mind sharing, how did you do the water? Are those actors? Animated tiles?
Nice game.

Excellent job, the game looks and plays great (perhaps a little bit generic, but given the quality and time constraints it doesn't hurt the game in the least). I agree that the camera is awesome, and helps a lot with the polished feel of the game.
It probably wouldn't hurt to allow the player a bit more leeway when it comes to touching the water, as there were a couple points when it seemed like I died before actually touching it, but my timing might have just been off.
I also feel I should throw my two cents into this controls discussion and say that having S to jump is the best choice (although Z or X are probably more the standard for small platformers and work just as well), but Spacebar should never be jump in anything remotely resembling a precision platformer as it's just far too clunky and slow.
And while Up is workable and convenient as a jump button for more casual platforming it gets too crowded and confusing in a more difficult game, having to juggle 3 constant, essential actions at all times like that with one hand will slow down reactions and blends them together too much.
