Thanks for checking out my work in progress! This is my first demo of Samara.
I appreciate any feedback/suggestions for future edits. This is my first game in Stencyl (other than sample kits) and I'm really enjoying learning about how to make games using the software.
Special thanks to the Stencyl tutorial community on YouTube for all the help getting me unstuck. I used some public domain art assets from Pixabay. All the audio I edited myself, some of the nature sounds were public domain stock sounds. I wrote the music. The voice actress is my girlfriend. I wrote the script.
Future versions will have more levels, more voice acting, and will be more difficult. My biggest takeaway from this demo is the game is far too easy in its current form. I also want to build a points system in future edits.
Samara will eventually be a game for phone and tablet using swiping motions instead of the computer keyboard arrows.
My goal here is to make a phone game that is theraputic, like walking through a meadow. I would like to increase the challenge, sure, but not at the expense of ruining the desired mood.
