Description

Game Controls:
This game uses Z, X, and C along with the Arrow Keys
Z - Jump
X - Attack
C - Alt Attack (Cannot use while ducking)(Requires 3 Hearts)

When standing infront of doors and ladders, press UP to advance through

Game Plot:
You're a whip wieldin', cross throwin' dude.
Go slay monsters.

Hello!

This is a fan made Castlevania project that I started earlier this year as a personal project to learn more about coding. The goal of this project is to complete a full 7 stage length game based off Konami's Castlevania series, with heavy influence on the popular Nintendo Entertainment System games like the original Castlevania and Akumajou Densetsu.

Major details that I wanted to stick to for this project were the similar playing controls and level design of the original games. The fixed jump, the whip controls, hearts, everything.

Game Progress:
06.19.2020- The first demo release! As more is progress is being made, seperate demos will be released until the hopeful full release of the game, my goal being Halloween 2020. Future demos will not include full sections of the game, rather snippits of future levels to showcase new enemies, stage hazards, etc.

Update 06.23.2020-
+New, more original Belmont sprites, inspired and influenced by Trevor Belmont in CVIII
+Reduced whip hit box duration and size
+Changed and modified hurt animation to closer match the NES games, knockback now does not end until the player is on solid ground rather than a timer, reducing the chance of unintentional juggling
+New animations and fix for the hearts, previously, hearts collected by a standing jump or standing under them would not count into the counter, now fixed
+Fixed Stage 1 Boss AI
+Fixed clipping bug where Belmont would up warp through blocks during jumping whip animation
+Added new Sub Weapons! Each still cost 3 hearts to use
-Holy Water: A projectile thats flung towards the ground and leaves behind fire burning away monsters
-Axe: A projectile suited for safely taking out foes above
-Cross: A classic projectile thats fires straight but boomerangs back
