Hmm.. it doesn't seem to lag until I shoot the first enemies.. btw, try making a big group of small blueish enemies follow you and stack into each other, until you feel there's like 15-20 of them. Then shoot them, and the combo counter goes instantly up to like 64, so there's something wrong with the method that is used to handle collision logic :P I had the same problem in one of my WIPs, where the counter code executed every frame the player touched it (I wanted to have a delay before the kill actor). Fix was adding a conditional attribute that changed on bottom of code, so the code could in no way execute twice :) ... and yes it needs more enemies, more lvlUps and maybe adding more space and a radar feature :)

There needs to be stronger waves. I got over 500 as a multiplier easily.
There's also a framerate issue.

@chaosoul Go ahead. Like you said, this is a Geometry Wars clone, so this isn't even my concept, aside from my personal touch of course. :)
@Andy Shape Wars sounds cool, but there's a lot of "Shape Wars" coming up on Google, and I kinda like naming my games to come up in first on a Google search. :P

Maybe add screen / actor wrapping to give it an asteroid feel. Just my $0.02, otherwise good clean fun!

I enjoyed playing this... its a great start, hoping to see a little bit more polish, and also as InFecTioN mentioned... something is slowing down the game after a while...
Eventually I just stayed at the dead center of the screen and shot everything that came at me, without ever losing my powerup (because i wasnt being hit)... had x700ish combo, 13 million points and 300ish hitpoints... framerate was down to 8, making it very easy to avoid being hit...
In fact, it took me about 1 minute to bump into enough enemies to actually die.
I think the mechanic of being able to shoot the powerup to get it, rather than actually touching it, is detrimental to the gameplay, because it allows you to sit at the center without ever having to move to the edges to get powerups...
so no risk vs reward (the edges being risky, since thats where the enemies appear... but also the powerups most of the time)
but as i said... great start, fun game!
I enjoyed playing it, I've been working on a similar game style (with glowy neon stuff and arena style gameplay... but mine was made in Unity3d... im still having issues figuring out Stencyl :P )
