Hey, I seen you on the forums around June last year about wanting to make a card game. If this was supposed to be a ccg like yu-gi or Magic then This is something I am also working at. My first thing to do was to create a simple beta set. 85 creatures, 65 tactical, and 9 currency. Its a bit complicated and time consuming. I'm still working at it.
Anyways, When you get the beta cards designed in paint shop or whatever visual then come up with some base rules written down for your own use like turn structure, base abilities like piercing, trample or attack and defense structure.
Now the actual programming after many weeks of doing the afore mentioned creation I just said.
I have started programming first the basic deck creation, deck shuffling, UI and simple animations of drawing cards during a game and placing those cards into play or going to carious areas of the play zone graveyard, whatever. None of it works its just animations Next I'm going to put those animations tied to programming based on what is going on like if I attack with a creature or blast it with a fireball or whatever so that the animations have meaning. and not just flying cards around at random.
The last thing is to program a AI so that players can have an opponent. maybe have different preferences for different AI opponents and different deck lists. One thing here to think about is that a human player will always be smarter than a AI so actually putting it in that the AI cheats is common practice in the game development industry. I know I went to school for it and everyone does it.
Anyways, after all this put in finishing touches and refine and add more cards to expand your game. If you want... Contact me and we can work together. I'd love to have some help. And I'm sure you could use some too.
