My first LD...just some basic top down shooter goodness I was working on this week. Has some basic pathfinding but there is much to be done. Hope you enjoy.

WASD or Arrow keys to move
Click to Shoot

Has some clipping, sound, and collision bugs but I'm actively working on this so expect to see updates.

Update: May 1 2017. Almost everything that possibly goes wrong in this build has been addressed in 0.1.0 and after LD I will upload a newer build with newer bugs :)

1. It's due to my collision bounds. The enemies have circular regions that trigger the pathfinding behavior when within the radius; however, the ai can't distinguish between a wall and empty space. It is semi-fixed in a current build I'm working on

2. The player does have hp and in my first build the enemies actually shoot at you when triggered; however, it wasn't developed enough to the point where the ai would only shoot if it knew it had a chance at hitting the player( currently the ai shoots indefinitely when triggered)

3. There was a bug with the bullets not decrementing the enemies hp. I have fixed this in a current build I'm working on.

4. I have a code that fires and points the bullet at the direction of the mouse, but my atan x and y values are slightly off. It's semi- working in my current build.

5. You should release your game/build anyway. It's a great way to gauge your progress!

Thank you for the valuable feedback and for taking time to play my little game.

I know it was made for Ludum Dare so you only had 2-3 days but I still wanted to comment. You've likely already noticed this, but I wanted to point out a few things.
1. The obvious collision detecting/path-finding (which I still have to learn myself) bugs, like enemies detecting you through obstacles or not seeing you when you walk past them (when not nearby).
2. You gave the enemies HP, but didn't decide to give the player! Haha, that would be a difficult game indeed.
3. Some enemies didn't lose HP when being shot at, not sure if that's because of where the bullet comes out the actor but that brings me to my next point.
4. You should probably find a way (if possible in Stencyl) to fire bullets directly out the gun, I have no idea how to do this however (which is why I didn't rush that mechanic along with others into my LD game because I didn't want to break it only for it to be too buggy to play when released).

All-in-all, great work! It's nice to see what others can do and learn from one another.
