Description
The story of a man and a spirit trapped on the Earth. Embark on a journey to help the spirit get to the afterlife.
This was made in two weeks for Stencyljam 2012 on Newgrounds.

Quick update: Why on earth are the checkpoints spread so far apart, I just went through 3 levels(?) and died and got sent all the way back. I did save, but it didn't seem to matter. Please leave something on these types of things in your description for future reference.
ex. "If you die, you get sent back to last checkpoint; REGAURDLESS OF SAVE"
Also be sure to mention if we will get to keep our items we found after that checkpoint (I wouldn't know, I am not walking all the way back to the chest to find out considering it isn't even on the way of the main obj).

I love the simple, yet fun and enjoyable style of this game. I can tell it was made in 2 weeks, although that wasn't an understatement of its design.
I like that this game gives you little instruction, yet is fairly easy to figure out on your own. I like that this game is somewhat difficult and requires you to build somewhat of a strategy to defeat your opponents (similar to a super Mario boss or something of the sort).
What I don't like is how fast the difficulty accelerates itself and how often you have to save if you don't want to be frustrated as hell at the fact that you just got shot 4 times in a row by a tiny golem that seemingly glitches taking only 1 or 2 steps before turning and shooting directly at you again.
Something very important in these style games is redundancy, if a golem is intended to take 5 steps and shoot, its ok if its a range between 4-6 steps, but don't allow it to take 1 step and fire repeatedly out of nowhere when you've already designed a tested method of killing them. Use the next enemy to do that. Otherwise we just get annoyed and frustrated and are tempted to close out and never play the game again.
Kudos, great job, and I hope to make a game of this caliber shortly. I understand how everything was made so it shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks and I'll be sure to play all the way through this for a good sense of what works (and what doesn't).

its like link is a man and he is on a journey to get to grandma zelda's funeral
when i got to the chest, it was like i had found a sword or something or that old guy who gives you a
sword gives you a sword and says "its dangoruos to go alone"
ok i got a pitchfork instead of a sword. are they ripping off legend of zelda?
great! now i can get that stupid plant out of my way!
wait! what the heck are those ducky monster things!? well im gonna pwn them!
wait what!? you cant kill monsters!? lame! thats nothing like legend of zelda!
well, i died. i rate this game, 3 stars for ripping off legend of zelda AND having no checkpoints. now i am not trying to spam. i normally talk like this.
