Crash Course 2: Invaders - Part 1
by Hectate (Updated on 2015-01-31)
Introduction
Welcome to Stencyl’s Crash Course 2. The first Crash Course helped you learn the basics, and this follow-up lesson will give you a quick intro to Stencyl's Design Mode (the block builder) and show you how to build a simple game.
The game you’ll build will be a simplified version of the classic game Space Invaders, where the player controls a spaceship and shoots enemies that are floating at the top of the screen.
(Updated February 2014 with corrected assets)
Let’s get started...
Part 1: Creating a New Game
Step 1: Click on the box that says “Click here to create a new Game.”
Step 2: Select the Blank Game option from the list of available Kits and click Next.
You'll get a dialog that allows you to name your game and set the game screen's Width and Height. Name your game Invaders and leave the Width at 640 pixels and the Height at 480 pixels.
Click "Create" and Stencyl will build your blank game and open it.
Next, we’ll start importing assets.

Been trying out the crash course and the program is different from what I am using. I think it's because of the new version, however I have no idea how to use this as problems keep happening.
For example: Had to drag in the background, as the button has been removed. Then after I couldn't add actors onto the scene or anything else.
